No idea what school of lyric writing she went to but it wasn't a very good one. What on earth is 'If You Were A Sailboat' going on about?
If you were a cowboy i would trail you, (stalking?) If you were a piece of wood id nail you to the floor, (bunny boiler?) If you were a sailboat i would sail you to the shore, (aren't boats supposed to be on the water not the shore?) If i was a telephone i know you would ring me all day long, (be a bit weird to be obsessed with ringing a phone, especially if nobody is going to answer) If i was a book i know you would read me every night, (until you'd finished it and then dumped it on a shelf to gather dust or carbooted it)
Must have been listening to If I Were A Carpenter and not quite got it.
